Shopping Guide

How To Pick The Right One.

Start with gear that solves a real golf problem: a better gift, an easier trip, a cleaner bag, or a sharper course fit.

Best first pick

Choose the item that solves a common round problem: cleaner clubs, better organization, easy group gifting, or a better-looking golf fit.

Best cart builder

Pair a wearable piece with a small bag upgrade. Hats, towels, markers, gloves, and balls make the cart feel more intentional.

Best gift rule

When in doubt, avoid complicated sizing and buy useful gear under $60. It is easier to gift and more likely to make it to the course.

Quick Questions

Before You Buy.

What is first-target priority on a rangefinder?

First-target priority (also called flag lock or pin-seeker mode) locks onto the closest target — the flagstick — rather than trees or background objects behind the green. It is the most important feature for golfers.

Are slope rangefinders legal in tournaments?

Rangefinders with a lockable slope switch are tournament legal when slope is turned off. Pure slope-mode-only units are not allowed in USGA-governed events. When in doubt, check with the competition committee.

Rangefinder vs GPS watch — which is better?

Rangefinders give more precise point-to-flag yardage (±1 yard). GPS watches give faster front/middle/back distances without aiming. Rangefinders win for approach accuracy; GPS watches win for pace of play.
