Golf Warm Weather Gear Guide — What to Pack for Summer Rounds
The complete gear setup for summer golf rounds — sun protection, hydration, sweat management, and the accessories that hold up in heat and humidity.
The Summer Bag Setup
Summer golf is 4+ hours in direct sun with cart and walking mix. Gear that works in cool April weather fails in July heat: leather grips get slippery with sweat, cotton gloves dry out fast, and bags without ventilation trap heat against the back. The summer setup requires specific gear swaps.
Sun Protection Priority
UPF 50+ neck gaiter + golf-specific sunscreen SPF 50 + a structured hat with a full brim is the non-negotiable summer combination. A sun gaiter pulls up over the nose on exposed par-5 walks and drops down when back under tree cover. SPF 50 reapplied at the turn means no sunburn from a 7AM tee time to the clubhouse lunch.
Glove Rotation in Heat
One glove lasts 4-6 holes in heat before sweat saturates the leather and grip degrades. Carry 3 gloves and rotate them through a round, letting each dry on the bag for 12 holes before using again. A dry glove is a gripping glove. This is why a 3-pack is worth it in summer specifically.
Hydration Gear
