Golf Warm Weather Gear: What to Wear and Carry in Summer
The gear checklist for summer golf rounds — sun protection, hydration, cooling, and what actually makes an 85-degree round comfortable from the first tee to the 18th green.

Sun Protection Stack
UPF 50+ arm sleeves, a wide-brim hat, and SPF 50+ sunscreen on the face and neck. The arm sleeves cover more area without reapplication. The hat reduces squinting and ball tracking difficulty on sunny days.
Hydration Math
A 4-hour summer round burns 500–800 calories and 32–64 oz of sweat depending on temperature. An insulated 20 oz tumbler refilled at the turn covers minimum hydration. Bring an extra 16 oz bottle in the bag pocket for the back nine.
Grip Sweat Management
A dry microfiber towel attached to the bag ring keeps grip surfaces dry between shots. Players who dry the grip, dry the glove, and dry the club handle before each shot maintain consistent grip pressure through 18 holes in heat.
