Golf Hat Guide — Rope, Snapback, Dad Cap, Bucket: Which One Is You?
A breakdown of every golf hat style — rope hat, snapback, dad cap, bucket hat — with fit notes, course appropriateness, and gifting angle for each.

Rope Hat
The rope hat (also called a trucker-style with a braided rope detail) is the most recognizable golf hat style right now. Curved brim, mesh back, structured front panel. Works on and off the course. Most WYX rope hats are one-size-fits-most with a snapback closure.
Snapback
Flat brim, structured front, snapback rear closure. Younger skew, more streetwear-adjacent. Works well for golfers who wear hats off the course regularly. Better for wide heads than fitted options.
Dad Cap
Unstructured, low-profile, curved brim. The most comfortable hat for long rounds. Easier to gift because sizing is more forgiving. The style that ages well — wears the same on round 1 as round 100.
Bucket Hat
Full sun protection, packable, works for tropical and coastal courses. Not traditional at private clubs. Great for warm-weather trips, beach golf, and golfers who burn.
Fit Notes
Most golf hats adjust to fit 7–7 7/8 head sizes. If you are buying for someone else, an adjustable hat is safer than a fitted one. Avoid fitted caps as gifts unless you know the head size.
