Golf Course Etiquette: The Unwritten Rules Every Golfer Should Know
The etiquette rules that separate occasional golfers from respected playing partners — pace of play, divot repair, raking bunkers, and cart behavior.

Pace of Play Is Everything
Ready golf: if it is safe, hit when ready. Do not wait for honors on every hole. Be at the ball when it is your turn to play. Walk, do not ride, when the cart path rules require it without slowing the group.
Fix Every Mark You Make
Repair your divot on the fairway. Fix your ball mark on the green — and one nearby while you are there. Rake your footprints in the bunker. These take 10 seconds and mean everything to the group behind you.
The Bag on the Correct Side
When walking to a green, leave your bag or push cart on the far side — in the direction of the next tee. Speeds up departure significantly when multiplied by four players over 18 holes.
